TOEICスピーキング実践レッスン！Camblyで学んだ「伝わる英語」の3つのコツ

先日、Camblyで初めてTOEICスピーキング対策のレッスンを受けてきました。正直、めちゃくちゃ緊張しました…！でも、Trevor先生から学んだことが目から鱗だったので、今日はその学びをシェアしたいと思います。

📝 レッスン前の準備が大事だった

実は、レッスンを受ける前にChatGPTで回答例を準備していました。

• 写真描写の練習（スーパーのレジ、キャンプの様子）
• 質問応答の練習（東京の天気、おすすめの季節、グループワークについて）

これらを事前に英語で整理しておいたんです。

でも、実際にTrevor先生とレッスンをしてみたら…**「英語は合っているけど、伝わり方が違う！」**という発見がたくさんありました。

🎯 レッスンで学んだ3つの重要ポイント

📚 Learning 1: イントネーションと強調のテクニック

日本語だと： リストを読むときは、最初の項目を高めの音程で、最後の項目を低めの音程で発音することが重要です。また、文章の重要な部分（特に固有名詞や企業名）は必ず強調する必要があります。

例えば、「outdoor cars, padded benches, and chairs」と読むとき、最初の2つを高めに、最後を低めに発音することで、自然な英語のリズムが生まれます。

In English: When reading lists, pronounce the first items with a higher pitch and the last item with a lower pitch. Additionally, you must emphasize important parts of sentences, especially proper nouns and company names.

Trevor先生の実演が印象的でした：

“The old fashioned train includes shaded outdoor cars↗, padded benches↗, and chairs↘”

このリズム、意識したことなかったです…！

📚 Learning 2: 簡潔さ（Succinct）の重要性

日本語だと： 15秒や30秒という限られた時間では、一文で複数の情報を伝える必要があります。「in June」ではなく「June」のように不要な言葉を省き、最初に全体像を述べてから詳細に入るアプローチが効果的です。

In English: With limited time of 15 or 30 seconds, you need to convey multiple pieces of information in one sentence. Eliminate unnecessary words like “in” before months, and lead with the big picture before diving into details.

私の失敗例： ❌ 「I can see four people and a tent. They seem to be a family…」（10秒経過）

✅ Trevor先生の改善案： 「Here we have a family of four camping on a sunny day.」（3秒で3つの情報！）

これだけで、人数・活動・天気を一気に伝えられる！時間の節約になるんです。

📚 Learning 3: 高度な語彙と推論の表現

日本語だと： 基本的な単語だけでなく、より高度な語彙を使うことが高得点につながります。「many rainy days」より「downpour」「drenched」などの具体的な表現、「nice weather」より「vivid pinks and whites」のような視覚的な描写を加えることで、聞き手の頭に明確なイメージを作れます。

In English: Using advanced vocabulary beyond basic words leads to higher scores. Instead of “many rainy days,” use specific expressions like “downpour” or “drenched.” Instead of “nice weather,” use visual descriptions like “vivid pinks and whites.”

印象的だったフィードバック： 桜の季節について話したとき、私は「many cherry trees have flowers」と言いました。

Trevor先生からは：

“You could describe the cherry blossoms themselves – the vivid pinks and whites that attract tourism from all over the world.”

この表現、すごく映像が浮かびますよね！

📸 実践編：私の実際の回答とフィードバック

問題1：写真描写「スーパーのレジ」（30秒）

【事前準備していた回答】

This picture shows a grocery store checkout. There are two people. 
On the left, there is a customer, and on the right, there is a cashier. 
The cashier is a woman wearing a blue shirt and a brown apron. 
She is smiling and putting salad and bread into a bag. 
It looks like she is having a friendly conversation with the customer. 
Behind them, I can see many items on the shelves.

【実際に話した回答】

“How did you know that was a cashier?”

推論の根拠を示すことが重要！「She’s wearing an apron, which is used at a grocery store checkout stand」と説明を加えるべきでした。

問題2：写真描写「キャンプシーン」（30秒）

【事前準備していた回答】

This is a picture of camping outside. I can see four people and a tent. 
They look like a family. On the left, the father is sitting on a green chair 
and giving a drink to the mother. She is sitting on the ground next to him. 
Inside the blue tent, two kids are lying down. I can also see a red backpack 
near the tent. The sun is very bright, and the trees look clear, so the weather 
is good. The family has some food, and camping outside looks very fun. 
They look very happy together.

【実際に話した回答】

This picture of camping outside. I can see four people and a blue tent. 
I think they are family. On the left, the father is sitting on the green chair

Trevor先生からの改善案： 「Here we have a family of four camping on a sunny day」と最初に全体像を述べるべき！これで家族構成・活動・天気を一気に伝えられます。

時間切れで言えなかった部分：

• 赤いリュックサック
• キャンプが楽しそう
• 家族が幸せそう

30秒は本当にあっという間でした…！

問題3：質問応答「6月と7月の東京の天気」（15秒）

【事前準備していた回答】

In Tokyo, June is the rainy season. It is often cloudy and wet, but not too hot. 
In July, the rain ends and it gets very hot and humid. 
The summer weather is strong with a lot of sunshine.

【実際に話した回答】

In I live in Tokyo, and in Tokyo, June is the rainy season. 
It is often cloudy and wet, but not so hot. 
In July, the rain ends and it gets very hot.

Trevor先生からの指摘： 「in June」「in Tokyo」の「in」を省いて、もっと簡潔に！

“June is very hot and humid. July is…”

これだけで数秒節約できて、もっと詳しく説明できたはずです。

問題4：質問応答「東京での降雨頻度」（15秒）

【事前準備していた回答】

It rains a lot in my town. Usually, it rains about 10 days each month. 
Most rain comes in June and July. The weather is often cloudy and wet at that time.

【実際に話した回答】

It rains a lot in my hometown. Usually it rains about 10 days each month. 
Most rain comes in June and July. It's a we call rainy season in Japan.

Trevor先生からの指摘： 「rainy season」を最初に持ってくるべき！そして「downpour」「drenched」などの高度な語彙を使えば、さらに良くなります。

改善版の例：

“We have a rainy season. This occurs in June and July with frequent downpours, and it rains about 10 days each month.”

問題5：質問応答「東京を訪れるベストシーズン」（15秒）

【事前準備していた回答】

The best season in my town is spring. The weather is warm and nice. 
Many cherry trees have flowers. There are many parks where people can enjoy hanami, 
or looking at cherry blossoms. Spring is very beautiful, and it is good for 
going outside and enjoying nature.

【実際に話した回答】

The best season in my town is spring. The weather is very warm and nice, 
and many cherry blossoms have flowers. There are many parks where you can 
enjoy cherry blossoms.

Trevor先生からの素晴らしいアドバイス： 「vivid pinks and whites」のような視覚的な表現を使うと、聞き手の頭に明確なイメージが浮かぶ！

改善版の例：

“Spring is the best season. The vivid pinks and whites of cherry blossoms attract tourists from all over the world, and there are many parks for hanami.”

💡 特に印象に残った指摘

推論の根拠を示す重要性

写真描写で、私は「On the right, there is a cashier」と言ったんですが、Trevor先生から質問が：

“How did you know that was a cashier?”

そこで、「Because she’s wearing an apron」と答えたら、すごく褒められました！

推論の根拠を示すことで、より高度な英語力をアピールできるんです。

🔥 45秒/30秒/15秒の壁が予想以上にキツい

実際にやってみて痛感したのが、時間制限の厳しさ。

• 準備時間45秒→あっという間
• 回答時間30秒→言い終わらない
• 回答時間15秒→めちゃくちゃ短い！

特にキャンプの写真では、言いたいことの半分も言えずに時間切れ…。事前準備では完璧だったのに、本番では全然ダメでした。

でも、Trevor先生が教えてくれた「Succinct（簡潔さ）」のテクニックを使えば、限られた時間でも十分に伝えられることが分かりました。

📖 事前準備 vs 実践レッスンの違い

ChatGPTでの準備：

• 正しい英語が学べる
• 語彙や文法の確認ができる
• 自分のペースで練習できる
• 文章を洗練できる

Camblyでの実践：

• イントネーションや強調が学べる
• 時間感覚を体感できる（これが一番重要！）
• リアルタイムでフィードバックがもらえる
• 実際の緊張感の中で練習できる

私の結論： 両方を組み合わせることで、効果的に学習できます！ChatGPTで回答を準備→Camblyで実践→フィードバックを反映して再度準備、というサイクルが理想的です。

🎯 次のアクションプラン

今回のレッスンを受けて、私が決めた次のステップ：

1. リスト表現の音声練習（高→高→低のリズム）
2. 1文3情報を意識した文章作り（”Here we have…”で始める練習）
3. 視覚的な語彙を増やす（vivid, drenched, downpour, droves など）
4. 推論の根拠を示す練習（”I know… because…”）
5. 毎週1回のCamblyレッスン継続

✨ まとめ

TOEICスピーキングは、ただ英語が話せればいいわけじゃない。

• イントネーション
• 時間管理
• 具体的な語彙
• 推論の根拠

これらを意識することで、グッと伝わる英語になるんです。

事前準備で「正しい英語」を学び、実践レッスンで「伝わる英語」を身につける。この組み合わせが、TOEICスピーキング攻略の鍵だと実感しました！
